Our company, Sanyo Senko, was founded in 1925 in the city of Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture. This region is considered a major textile production area, starting with the common garments of the Edo period, and continuing up to now with textiles such as denim. As the number of workshops producing Sashiko has been decreasing, a request for production reached our associate company, Chugoku Boshoku, and the latest looms capable of producing Sashiko have been brought in. We thought of using the fabric as a form of promotion of the local companies and thus started a collaboration.
