Hey everyone! I'm Eriko Honda, Representative for Mind Creators.
This year marks the second year of MAGIC MONACO being brought to Japan and being presented as MAGIC Kyoto. MAGIC Kyoto aims to bring amazing parts of pop culture, anime, video games, manga and so on together to celebrate them and show them off to the world. This is done by bringing together people not only passionate about these industries but those that are at the top of them, as well as the fans and holding round table talks, and conferences to help create more understanding of these brilliant cultures.
One more part of these industries that is celebrated, is the Cosplay side. With many creators of these cosplays coming, and showing off their extreme hard work, it creates an opportunity for those that have never interacted with these types of expression to find a new passion. It also allows for those that are on the fence to experience it and find the courage to try it out for themselves!
Last Year's MAGIC Kyoto 2018
Our aim is to create an event that for next year and the year after that and many years to come, pop culture and these industries have a home to be celebrated, and to have a place to grow.
With that, this year's official site has launched in preparation for MAGIC Kyoto 2019 being held on November 6th.
We want to hold this crowdfunding project to create an event for these amazing creators, to help create a place for the amazing cosplayers to gather and have more time to show off their costumes that can take several weeks and even months to make! By creating a short film, containing these amazing cosplayers, it will mean that it is far more easier to be able to show off the efforts of various cosplayers at the same time, as well as creating the opportunity to use some of the amazing facilities that we wish to hold the cosplayer photoshoot event at.
By making this event possible, we can also give the chance to fans and visitors to the event to interact with these cosplayers at said photoshooting event and learn more about the effort that goes into the costumes, as well as allowing for the opportunity to have pictures taken by a cameraman that works closely with many cosplayers! What's more, the event is planned to be held one day before MAGIC Kyoto 2019 on November 5th allowing for you to get a sneak peek at the costumes that some of the ambassadors will be presenting the next day!
With this project, we are thinking of combining the amazing cosplayers that are coming to participate in MAGIC KYOTO with the experience of the production company that made NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, Gainax Kyoto, to create an interesting short film starring said cosplayers using the brilliant old world TOEI Kyoto Studio Park!
With this original short movie focusing on the popular theme of main characters to a different world! We hope that we can bring to the forefront the talents of both Japanese creators and those from abroad!
We can't wait to start the preparation for this project!
Therefore in order to help with the costs of making the film, we want to bring to you this crowdfunding project with the aim of being able to create an amazing short movie!
Sister company to Gainax Tokyo, with Yasuhiro Takeda a founding member of Gainax Tokyo overlooking the company. Gainax is a company that looks at creating mainly animation with a long history of making amazing anime series!
Gainax Tokyo is famous for it's 1990s hit, 『Neon Genesis Evangelion』which changed the anime genre greatly, it has also produced a number of other big hits such as Royal Space Force and Gunbuster.
Yasuhiro was also involved in a computer game released by the name of 『Princess Maker』in the 1980s.
The latest work that has come from Gainax Kyoto is the TV animation “Urashimasakatasen no Nichijou” which is currently being broadcast.
Currently planning and preparing a new anime project!
Those that back the project and back the returns containing the changing rooms will be able to use the changing rooms at Nakamuraza Theatre.
Cosplayers that are involved with MAGIC Kyoto 2019 will be in attendance!
There will be special shooting around the Edo Style Toei Kyoto Studio Park Town!
Tickets are only available via this crowdfunding project!
Join in with a photoshoot with the cosplayers appearing in the short movie!!
The photographer will be the amazingly talented Aleksander from Austria, a photographer that specialises in cosplay
After getting your picture taken, it will be sent via email, allowing you to download your picture and post on SNS or use it however you would like!
Those that back this return will be able to use changing facilities on location!

Aleksander is the official photographer for MAGIC Monaco, shooting most of the pictures of the cosplayers that come to participate. With high reviews from cosplayers all over the world, it is a pleasure to have him come to shoot this event.

Born in Mihara, Hiroshima. During high school, studied abroad in the Silicon Valley area in America. After that, studied American English Literature at Aoyama Gakuin University. During university, created a IT based venture company, looking at holding cross-industry communication meetings. After graduating, entered an American trading company focusing on the management of IT planning, as well as handling mergers and acquisitions and inter-group communications, and then the acquisition of a professional football team.
In 2006, moved to Austin Texas, and started working at a real estate agency in charge or investors, as well as retail development and city planning.
In 2007, was elected as an officer of Texas-Asian Business Co-operation. In 2008, became director of content planning at a spin-off venture in a major communications group. Afterwards, moved to Paris, France to study an intermediate course of French Civilization at Sorbonne University.
In 2011, returned to Japan and was here to experience the Great Tohoku Earthquake. During the past 10 years, after realising that much of her efforts were based on abroad exploits, she looks to show off Japan to the world, and with that created Mind Creators inc.
Motto is “Every wall is a door.”
